Beech - Year 5 2024 - 2025

                                                                                      Welcome to Beech Class!

Welcome back from the summer holiday! This half term our topic will be Save Our Planet! We will be thoroughly exploring this topic throughout Geography, Art, English and Shared reading. The text that we will be focussing on for this half term will be 'Greta and the Giants' and during our Shared Reading and Geography lessons, we will be retrieving information from a non-fictions texts. 

In Science this half term, our topic will be Materials and our impact on the Planet. Our main focus will be the properties of different materials, their uses and the impact different materials have on our planet. 

Forest School

Forest school will be every other Thursday (starting on the 12th of September) and the dates are all on our school calendar. Children must come into school in their forest school clothing and bring their wellies/walking boots in a separate bag.

PE

PE will be every Tuesday afternoon and our unit is Dance. Children will need to bring in their PE kit at the start of this half term and will be kept in school till the end of the half term. 

We will also try and get outside to complete the golden mile as much as possible.
