30.6.20: Message from Mrs Darlington

Morning Oak Class,

I hope you have all had a good week.

Here are my activities for you today:

Music: This week, I have chosen a piece of music that was written for a very famous film about WW2, called 'The Great Escape'.  The activities for this are attached.

French: The story this week is one of my favourites, 'The Gingerbread Man'. It includes an English translation too. Activity ideas attached.

Remember to keep sending me your photos to jdarlington@smallwood.cheshire.sch.uk.

x Mrs D.

Good Moring Oak Class

I hope you have had a super weekend, even if a little wet!. This week is the start of art week which runs for three weeks - Mrs Lightfoot and Mrs Molyneux have provided some super ideas and a powerpoint to help you which I have put on our page.

The Year 3 and Year 4 maths videos are on whiterose home learning:

Year 3 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/

Year 4 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/

The worksheets and answers are on our class page for you.

For English this week there is a new 2 weeks pack from Talk4Writing 'Impossibly Possible' and the daily English to choose from.

Keep going with your TT Rock Stars, Oxford Reading Owl and Education City. The Bitesize website has tones of great learning opportunities and don't forget your Viking Topic Grid. Mrs Darlington will put up French, music and forest school learning for you through the week.

This weeks spelling are 'silent letters' revision.

Have a super week and remember to email by Friday 10am to Mrs Darlington and cc me in.

Take care Mrs Priest x

Good Morning Oak Class, I hope you have all managed to have a lovely weekend, thank you for all the emails and photographs sent by Friday.

The English is a second week of ‘Mission Possible’ and I have included the alternative choice again of the daily lessons. This starts with the song ‘The King of Rome’ moving onto animal calligram and poetry.

Apologises about the maths I am quite sure we have not covered this week’s work previously, the children in school had not covered any of the measure work last?! All a bit confusing.

The videos are still accessible on the link:

Year 3 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/

Year 4 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/

However, the work sheets aren’t, we have signed up to this resource as a school so they are on our class page for you to download.

This week’s spellings are more ‘ture’ words sounding like ‘chuh’.

Mrs Darlington is putting up super music, French and forest school and Mrs Molyneux is adding some lovely Storytime videos and follow up activities. Education City is set up, you can also explore areas yourself and decide what you want to work on. The times tables songs are lovely. TT Rock Stars and Oxford Owl available also, don't forget the Viking topic grid I've seen some good work from this week.

Please look after yourselves and your family, no work on here is a must do, just do what you can and what works best for you in the coming week.

Remember to get in touch with Mrs Darlington and myself at some point through the week, ideally by no later than 10am Friday morning. jdarlington@smallwood.cheshire.sch.uk and cc jpriest@smallwood.cheshire.sch.uk. It is always lovely to hear from you all.

Take care, Mrs Priest x

Good morning!

The new storytime video is on the storytime page.  This week we are continuing the theme of The Trinity.  This is more of an explanation than a story, however next week the rainbow wooden people will be back with more story telling!  I invite you to think of another way to explain The Trinity.  Maybe you'd like to make your own video to explain your Trinity object to share with us all.  Please email any work to smolyneux.smallwoodacademy@gmail.com

Take care

Mrs Molyneux
