Hazel 2022 - 2023
Welcome to Hazel Class. I am really excited to get back into the classroom after a term of settling into my new role as Deputy and getting to know everyone in our wonderful school. I will be teaching in Hazel on Monday-Thursday. Mrs Darlington will teach in Hazel every Friday.
We are also lucky enough to be supported by either Mrs Clarke or Mrs Kelsey throughout the week.
Our topic for Autumn 1 is World War 2 and we are set to learn all about how the war came about; what the experiences of men, women and children were during this time and how the Nazi party grew in power, amongst other aspects.
Our learning in history will link very closely with our writing in English where we will use the text ‘Rose Blanche’ to write emotive diary entries as well as bravery award speeches.
The theme of war will also continue into our art where we will develop our printing skills by designing our own poppy for a collagraph plate.
Please see the link at the bottom of this page for the long-term curriculum overview for Autumn. Here you will be able to see what the children will be learning in every area of the curriculum!
Forest school is every other Friday starting on Friday 9th September. Children should come in their forest school clothes and have wellies or walking boots with them.
Year 6 will be going swimming on a Monday afternoon starting on Monday 12th September. Please ensure that your child brings their swimming kit to school every Monday.
Please also ensure that your child’s PE kit is in school all week.
If at any point throughout the year you have anything you wish to speak to me about, please do not hesitate to come and see me or get in touch either via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or class dojo.
