Elm Class 2020 - 2021

Mrs Lightfoot

Friday 4th September

Well it's Friday and I think we are all ready for a jolly good rest! The children have been extremely well behaved and coped with returning to school really well. I have now finalised the timetable for Elm Class and attach the schedule of work for the Autumn Term.

Our day for PE will be Tuesdays and therefore on a Tuesday you will need to send your child to school ready dressed in their full PE Kit. We have hall availability for PE every other week and will therefore be doing PE outside every other week - weather permitting of course so please ensure you dress your child accordingly - if you think it's cold put racksuit bottoms on not shorts.

We are not doing Forest School until after October half term so I will inform you of the day and details of that nearer the time. I will be teaching your children every morning for maths/literacy/phonics/spelling and guided reading. On a Monday afternoon they will have 45 minutes of French and Music with Mrs. Darlington and on a Wednesday to cover my PPA they will have Enrichment activities for the first half term with Miss. Mander and the second half term as Forest School with Miss. Bradbury and Mrs. Harper. For the rest of the afternoon sessions I will teach the rest of the curriculum.

Next week we will establish a reading schedule and issue your child with a reading book and home/school diary and by the end of the week I will issue the homework expectations.

I hope this is of some assistance and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on my school email address.

Thursday 3rd September

Hello Everyone,

We have had a wonderful first day back and the children in Elm Class Bubble all looked incredibly smart and happy coming into school. I have recieved some lovely homework from many in the class and if you still have some a home please send it in over the next few days.

We have built into the day frequent opportunities to wash our hands which is the best way to keep ourselves safe and I know some children have brought in hand gels which they are welcome to use but they will not be instead of regular washing with soap and water.

Over the next few days I will send home information regarding our class timetable and the work we intend to cover over this term along with days for PE etc. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me via email.

Mrs. Lightfoot xx
